This page is your resource for the 2026 Superman Bicycle Ride.Please read carefully, as several things have changed since last year.
We will not being accepting online or electronic payments this year. Payments can be made in person Saturday morning using cash or check, or by mail with a check. To pay by mail please print and fill out the registration form (link below, address is on the form).
Online registration is available using the form at the bottom of this page. Registering does not create an obligation on your part, but will be greatly appreciated as this will help us to anticipate the number of riders and plan for the number of shirts required.
In response to rider requests the 40 mile route has been replaced with a 20 mile route.
The Superman Celebration will be holding a carnival at Washington Park concurrent with Superman Bicycle Ride registration, and carnival equipment will be set up on Metropolis Street adjacent to the park. Please come to the park gazebo to register for the ride.
Parking may be more crowded than last year because of the carnival. Please refer to the registration and start location map (link below) for suggested alternate places to park.
The 38th Metropolis Kiwanis Superman Bicycle Ride will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in conjunction with the 2026 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL. The ride will begin at 8 AM at Washington Park (across from the Metropolis Public Library) with a mass start led by Superman. You can view a map of the registration and start location here. The ride will include 10 mile, 20 mile, and 60 mile routes. The 10 mile and 20 mile routes are relatively flat and the 60 mile route has challenging hills. A drawing of early registrants (those who register not later than May 15, 2026) will be held prior to the start of the Ride for a bicycle* and related accessories (donated by the Kiwanis Club of Metropolis). (*Instead of a physical bicycle, we will provide a gift certificate from Bike World of Paducah, KY, that can be used for anything in the store.)
The entry fee for adult riders this year will be $35. The early registration cutoff date for the prize drawings will be May 15, 2026. Children 16 and under ride FREE with a registered parent or guardian. This FREE ride does not include an event t-shirt but shirts can be purchased for $20 (while supplies last). Walk-in registration will be available the day of the event at Washington Park between 7:00 and 8:00 AM using cash or check. Mail-in registration can be made by printing the registration form (link below) and mailing to the address on the form along with a check (do not send cash!).
